Dignitaries, partners and colleagues,
A good morning to you all.
Here, at this Metro Station, some journeys end and others begin.
Today marks the final day of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. And as that campaign ends, another begins.
We are proud to launch the Delhi Metro’s campaign for Women’s and Girls’ Health and Wellbeing, rooted in two simple and enduring truths: Healthy Women = Healthy Nations, and #BcozSheMatters.
This month-long campaign is a journey with many companions. I thank the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the WHO Country Office for India, and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for their close cooperation. I commend and thank the Secretary, Ms Punya Salila Srivastava, for her leadership and her team for their commitment and excellent collaboration.
Through this campaign, we aim to advocate with metro travelers and all those who see these coaches on the train station or even outside, that women’s health must be our priority. There is no doubt that healthy women are pillars of a health family, community and a healthy nation. Health of women and girls, including their mental health, is hence important not just for their well-being, but most importantly for our well-being.
Through this campaign we are advocating for reducing the digital divide, addressing digital abuse, and ending violence against women. Why? #BcozSheMatters.
Healthy Women = Healthy Nations.
I invite all of you to take this campaign forward as your campaign. #BcozSheMatters. Help spread this message and join forces be because Healthy women make healthy nations.
We thank DMRC for opening your doors and platforms to us—literally and metaphorically. Thank you for helping us carry these messages across the city.
To everyone present here today – I thank you for being fellow travelers on this important journey together.
I thank you.
